Starting Locations Based on Your House Selection

Finding the Map with Floating Candles depends directly on which Hogwarts house you selected at the beginning of your journey. Gryffindor students will discover it sitting on a tomb in the Hogsmeade Graveyard after completing their house quest. Slytherins can retrieve the map inside Apollonia's Grotto underneath the castle during their specific storyline.

Hufflepuff players will find the treasure map in a chest behind a vendor stall in Upper Hogsfield. Ravenclaw students need to climb to the very top floor of the Hogwarts Owlery to claim their map. Regardless of your house origin, acquiring this parchment unlocks the same overarching mystery.

Finding the Floating Candles in the Highlands

Once you have acquired the map, travel to the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame location just north of Hogwarts Castle. Walk toward the nearby stone bridge and make sure that the time of day is set to night. If it is daylight, simply open your map interface and select the option to advance time until dark.

Stand near the edge of the stone bridge and cast the illumination spell Lumos. Casting Lumos at night causes three enchanted floating candles to immediately materialize in front of you. Once they appear, slowly follow their glowing path across the bridge and into the outskirts of the forest.

Following the Path to the Hidden Destination

The floating candles move at a moderate pace through the forest trail, guiding you toward a scenic overlook. It is important to stay close to the candles while navigating the path so you do not lose their trail. Try to avoid engaging nearby hostile creatures like forest wolves so you do not get separated from your glowing guides.

After a short walk, the candles will guide you to a romantic outdoor table setup adorned with two chairs. At this destination, the floating candles hover around the table, marking the end of the treasure trail. A glowing treasure chest will spawn right next to the seating area upon your arrival.

Rewards for Completing the Ghost of Our Love Quest

Opening the chest completes the "Ghost of Our Love" side quest and grants several valuable in-game items. Players receive 400 Galleons to spend on various magical goods and potion ingredients. Additionally, you will earn 180 Experience Points to help boost your overall character level.

The final reward inside the chest is the exclusive Treasure-Seeker's Scarf gear appearance. This cosmetic item can be applied to any equipped neckwear through your gear customization menu. Completing this short nighttime quest offers both a charming visual experience and great early-game rewards.
